Common Defect Causes and Preventive Measures for Saddle Repair Clamp
2026-09-15 03:00:02
Although saddle repair clamp is reliable for small local pipe defects, sealing failure may occur in service.Common causes include insufficient cleaning of pipe outer wall, asymmetric bolt tightening, gasket aging and excessive pipe wall thinning.
When installing saddle clamps, the contact surface must be free of loose rust. The bolt torque should follow technical specifications.Over tightening may squeeze and deform thin pipe walls. For long term service, regular visual inspection and torque check are required.
In corrosive environments, select upgraded gasket and shell materials.Periodic inspection and timely replacement of aging components effectively reduce secondary leakage risk and extend the service life of saddle repair clamps.
