Fire tee repair clamps may lose sealing performance after years of service.The complex tee curved surface brings higher requirements for installation quality than straight pipe repair.The most frequent cause of failure is incomplete surface cleaning before installation.Residual rust,coating fragments and protrusions create local gaps between gasket and tee surface and trigger leakage.Uneven bolt tightening is another common problem,which leads to gasket shifting and uneven compression.
Long term static compression and humid environment cause rubber gasket ageing.The gasket gradually hardens,loses elasticity and develops cracks.In corrosive environments,the clamp shell may suffer pitting corrosion,reducing structural strength.In addition,if the residual tee wall thickness is insufficient,the tee body will deform under bolt pressure even after clamp installation,resulting in seal failure.
Preventive measures start with strict defect evaluation before repair.Construction personnel must fully clean the tee outer surface and control bolt torque according to specifications.After repair,regular inspection should check shell corrosion,bolt tightness and gasket elasticity.Replace ageing or corroded components in advance.Effective inspection and maintenance reduce secondary leakage risk and extend the service life of fire tee repair clamps.
