Installation Procedure and Technical Notes of Fire Tee Repair Clamp

Standardized installation operation is critical to guarantee the sealing effect of fire tee repair clamp. The geometric structure of tee joints is more complex than straight pipes,so pretreatment and positioning require stricter operation standards. Before installation, operators drain water from the local pipe section and thoroughly remove rust, old coating, dirt and burrs on the tee outer surface.Any residual protruding impurities will cause gasket deformation and local leakage.
The next step is defect assessment.Technicians measure the size of cracks or corrosion holes and check residual tee wall thickness to confirm the defect falls within the applicable range of the clamp.Place the preformed rubber gasket accurately to fully cover the leakage area, then assemble the split clamp shell and align the fitting along the tee profile.Tighten fastening bolts in diagonal sequence with uniform torque.Uneven tightening will lead to gasket offset, local overpressure and pipe wall deformation.Excessive bolt torque must be avoided especially on thin wall galvanized fire tees.
After assembly, pressure holding test is necessary to inspect leak tightness. It is important to note that fire tee repair clamp can only handle local defects on tee body.If cracks extend to tee branch roots or the tee suffers large area wall thinning, clamp repair is not a suitable solution. After project acceptance, regular maintenance inspection should be arranged to check bolt looseness and gasket ageing status for the repaired tee joint.
