Installation Process and Operating Notes of Saddle Repair Clamp

Correct installation is critical to guarantee the sealing effect of saddle repair clamp.Before installation,the outer pipe wall at the leakage position needs thorough cleaning to remove rust,dirt and burrs.Operators must check the size of defects to confirm suitability for saddle type repair.

Place the preformed gasket on the leakage point and cover it with the saddle shell.Tighten bolts evenly in sequence to avoid local excessive pressure which may deform the pipe wall or displace the gasket.Over tightening should be strictly avoided.

After assembly,pressure holding test is recommended to verify leak tightness.Saddle repair clamps are only applicable for local small area defects.They cannot be used for pipes with large deformation or extensive corrosion.Regular inspection is needed for high pressure pipelines after repair.
