Pressure Performance Test of Fire Tee Repair Clamp

Pressure performance test is a necessary verification method for fire tee repair clamps.Due to the complex three-dimensional curved shape of tee joints,the stress distribution on clamp shell and sealing gasket differs greatly from straight pipe repair clamps.Test programs include static hydraulic pressure holding test and cyclic pressure fluctuation test.Static pressure test applies rated working pressure and overload pressure on assembled tee and clamp specimen to check for leakage,shell deformation and gasket displacement.Cyclic pressure test simulates repeated water hammer pressure changes during fire system operation.

Test results define the rated pressure range and allowable defect size of each specification.The stress concentration area at tee branch root needs special observation during testing.Even if raw material meets standard requirements,improper structural transition of clamp shell will cause local stress accumulation and early failure under pressure.Product test reports are required for fire engineering acceptance to prove performance compliance.

Engineers select suitable fire tee repair clamp models according to tee nominal diameter,wall thickness and system test pressure.Safety margin is reserved to handle unexpected pressure surges.For repaired fire tee joints in key areas,periodic on site pressure inspection can be arranged.If permanent deformation or gasket extrusion is discovered,the clamp assembly must be replaced immediately to maintain fire pipeline integrity.
