Pipe Repair Clamp Material Selection and Sealing Performance Analysis

Material selection is a key factor determining the service performance and service life of pipe repair clamp.The shell material needs to resist corrosion from water,gas and chemical medium.Stainless steel grades are widely selected for long term underground and underwater pipeline projects.The internal sealing gasket is the core component to prevent leakage,which needs good elasticity,aging resistance and medium resistance.

Different working fluids require different gasket rubber materials.EPDM rubber suits water and sewage pipelines,while nitrile rubber adapts to oil and hydrocarbon medium.When the clamp is tightened,the gasket deforms to fill pipe cracks and surface gaps.Uniform bolt torque control is required during installation to avoid insufficient sealing or pipe damage caused by over tightening.

Material compatibility test should be carried out before selecting pipe repair clamps for special working conditions.High temperature,salt water and corrosive medium will accelerate material aging.Proper matching of shell and gasket materials can greatly extend the service cycle of pipeline repair and reduce repeated maintenance work.
