Hydrostatic Pressure Test and Performance Verification of Flange Adapter

Hydrostatic pressure test is a mandatory performance verification method for flange adapters.The test assesses two core indicators:structural strength of the adapter body and sealing reliability of flange joint.Static hydrostatic test applies pressure step by step up to test pressure and holds for specified duration to check for leakage,sweating,permanent deformation or cracking on the fitting.
Cyclic pressure test simulates repeated pressure fluctuation caused by pump startup and water hammer in actual pipeline operation.It helps evaluate whether gasket preload can remain stable under thousands of pressure cycles.Test samples include complete assembly of flange adapter,gasket and bolts,not only the bare casting body.Test results define allowable working pressure and temperature range for each specification.
In pipeline engineering acceptance,product test reports are required to prove that flange adapters comply with relevant standards.Engineers select flange adapters with proper pressure class according to system working pressure plus safety margin.Pressure test on site after installation is also indispensable.
For critical pipeline sections,regular re inspection can be arranged.If flange face deformation,bolt elongation or gasket extrusion appears during inspection,the assembly should be replaced immediately.Pressure test data provides reliable basis for product selection,design check and quality acceptance of flange adapters.
